Outlook - Epic Add-In - Add Add-In On Outlook

Some users may experience issues where the Applied Epic add-in does not appear or function correctly within Microsoft Outlook. This guide outlines troubleshooting steps to locate, enable, or reinstall the Epic add-in to restore its functionality.

Check if the Epic Add-in is Disabled by Outlook

1. Open Outlook and navigate to File > Slow & Disabled COM Add-ins.

2. If the Epic add-in appears in this list, select it, then click Options and choose Do not monitor this add-in for the next 30 days.

3. Click Apply. Outlook will prompt you to enable the add-in again. This setting may require renewal every 30 days to prevent automatic disabling.

Verify the Add-in is Enabled in Outlook Add-ins Settings

1. If the add-in is not in the Slow & Disabled list, go to File > Options > Add-ins.

2. At the bottom, select COM Add-ins from the Manage dropdown and click Go.

3. Ensure the Epic add-in checkbox is selected. If it’s unchecked, check it and click OK.

Reinstall the Epic Add-in if Missing

1. If the add-in does not appear in either of the above sections, it may need to be installed or reinstalled.

2. Locate the installer on the workstation, typically at:

   1. For 32-bit Outlook:

      C:\ASI\ASI.TAM\ThinClient\Software\OutlookAddInSetup.msi

   2. For 64-bit Outlook:

      C:\ASI\ASI.TAM\ThinClient\Software\OutlookAddInSetup64.msi

3. Run the appropriate installer with administrator privileges and follow the prompts to complete the installation.

Finalizing Add-in Activation

1. After enabling or reinstalling, open Outlook.

2. Navigate to the Home tab. Click the small arrow in the bottom right corner of the Attach to Epic button.

3. Select Desktop from the dropdown menu, then close the menu.

4. The add-in should now function correctly and be available for use.
