Outlook - Export To The Outlook Data File
This guide explains how to export emails from Microsoft Outlook to an Outlook Data File (.PST), which can be used for backup purposes or transferring data to another computer.
Instructions
Open Microsoft Outlook and go to the File tab in the top menu.
Click Open & Export, then select Import/Export.
In the Import and Export Wizard, choose Export to a File and click Next.
Select Outlook Data File (.pst) and click Next.
Choose the folder you wish to export. You can select your inbox or any other folder, and you have the option to include subfolders.
Choose a location to save the .PST file. You may also select options to replace duplicates with exported items if necessary.
Click Finish to start the export. The process duration will depend on the number of items being exported.
Optionally, you can set a password for the .PST file for additional security.
Once the export is complete, your .PST file will be ready for use or transfer.
Due to OneDrive restrictions, .PST files first need to be zipped/compressed before being uploaded to OneDrive. Uploads will fail otherwise.
