Outlook - Synchronization Log Notification

Outlook - Synchronization Log Notification

You may occasionally receive an email from Outlook about a “synchronization log.” This is usually normal and simply means Outlook is checking that what’s on your computer matches what’s on the mail server.

Instructions

What you should do

  • In most cases: nothing. Outlook runs synchronization checks in the background as part of normal operation.

  • Don’t worry if you’re not seeing any problems. If Outlook notices small inconsistencies, it often fixes them automatically without you needing to do anything.

  • Keep Outlook updated. Updates can improve syncing and reduce the chance of errors.

Contact support if you notice ongoing issues such as:

  • Emails not sending or receiving

  • Missing messages or folders that don’t match between devices

  • Repeated sync errors that don’t go away
