Computer - Disable Startup Programs
This article explains how to disable unnecessary startup programs that run automatically when your PC starts.
Instructions
To find and disable unnecessary startup programs, follow these steps:
Open the Startup Apps List
Click the Start button, then go to Settings > Apps > Startup.
In the Startup Apps section, you will see a list of all programs set to start automatically when Windows starts.
Disable Unwanted Programs
Find the program you want to disable in the list and toggle it to Off.
Check the Taskbar Notification Area
Some programs may still run in the background without showing up in the Startup Apps list. To see these, look at the program icons in the notification area (the far right of the taskbar).
If the program is listed, right-click the icon to adjust startup settings or close the program completely. Make sure to select Show hidden icons to ensure you don't miss anything.
If you turn off a program but it continues to run at startup, perform a virus and malware scan to ensure that no unwanted software is affecting your system.
Disabling unnecessary startup programs can improve boot times and free up system resources.
