Computer - No Audio from Speaker

Problem

The speaker does not produce sound. This document provides steps to resolve this issue.

Solution 

 

  1. Check Windows Update and Dell Update

  1. Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates

  2. Also check Optional updates / Driver updates (if shown)

  3. Reboot after installing driver updates

  4.  Open the Volume Settings or Sound Settings in the system preferences.

  1. Ensure that the correct audio output device (Speakers) is selected.

  1. Verify that the volume is not muted or too low.

  2. Test the speakers by playing audio or sound.
