Computer - Screen Orientation Wrong
Problem
If the screen is rotated or flipped incorrectly on a new Dell laptop, users can easily restore the display orientation to the correct setting by following these steps.
Solution
Use Windows Display Settings (Recommended)
Right-click the desktop and select Display settings.
Under System > Display, find Display orientation.
Select Landscape (or the desired orientation).
Click Apply (then confirm if prompted).
Microsoft documents changing orientation through Settings > System > Display > Display orientation.
Keyboard Shortcut (Only if Supported on That System)
Ctrl + Alt + Up Arrow = normal landscape
Ctrl + Alt + Down/Left/Right Arrow = other orientations
Important: This is not universal on Dell laptops. Dell states that on systems using 6th Generation or newer Intel integrated graphics, the Ctrl + Alt + Arrow hotkey may not rotate the display, and users should use Windows Display Settings instead.
Dell also notes that hotkey behavior can depend on the Intel graphics software and may be configurable in Intel Graphics Command Center (if present).
Stop Unwanted Auto-Rotation (2-in-1 / Convertible Devices Only)
If the laptop is a touchscreen 2-in-1 and the screen rotates when the device is moved, use Rotation lock (if available on that device) to prevent automatic rotation. Rotation-related options are device-dependent and may only appear on hardware that supports auto-rotation. (This is why some clamshell laptops won’t show these controls.)
Table Mode on Windows 11 and Windows 10
Windows 11
Windows 11 does not have a manual Tablet mode on/off setting. It switches automatically based on device posture (for example, keyboard detached or device folded into tablet form).
Windows 10 (Legacy instructions only)
On the taskbar click on the action center icon on the far right
Select the Tablet mode
