Computer - Monitor setup

User requested assistance with setting up a monitor connected to a newly purchased docking station for a laptop.

Instructions

1. Open Display Settings

   • Press Windows + P

   • Right-click on the desktop and select Display Settings.

2. In the Display Settings window, select the newly connected monitor under Multiple Displays and choose Extend from the dropdown menu to extend the desktop to the monitor.

3. Instruct the user to confirm the monitor is being recognized and test the display by moving windows between the laptop and external monitor.

4. Ensure the user adjusts the display resolution if necessary for optimal viewing (recommended resolution should be auto-detected by the system, but this can be manually adjusted).

5. Confirm with the user that the monitor is now working correctly.
