Allworx - Consultation Process

This guide explains how to use the consultation (or consult) feature on an Allworx multi-line phone system, allowing you to place a call on hold, speak with a third party, and then return to the original caller.

The consultation feature lets you put an active call on hold, make a second call to consult with another party, and then switch back to the original call seamlessly.

How to Use the Consultation Feature

  1. During your active call, press the Hold button to place the current call on hold.

  2. Select a new available line on your phone.

  3. Dial the extension or number of the person you want to consult with.

  4. Speak with the third party as needed.

  5. When your consultation is complete, press the flashing line/button corresponding to the original call to reconnect.
