Add a new desktop to Azure multi-session environment

🎮 Chapter 3: Summoning a New Desktop to the Multi-Session Realm

Prepare your sword, brave admin—you're about to conjure a new ally into your virtual legion!

🔹 Quest Start: Enter the Azure Portal

  1. 🧭 Open your browser and journey to the sacred portal:
    👉 https://portal.azure.com

🔹 Locate the Host Pool of Power

  1. 🏰 Seek out the Host Pool named:
    tru-multi-avd-host-pool

  2. 🔑 Select the Registration Key relic.
    ➤ Press Generate New Key
    ➤ Select your Expiration Date
    ➤ Press OK to seal the enchantment

🔹 Summon Your Machines

  1. ⚔️ Under “Virtual Machines”, select Total Machines

  2. ➕ Choose Add to begin your summoning ritual

🔹 The Summoning Scroll: Configuration Steps

  1. 📜 On the new screen, click Next to proceed

  2. 🖼 In the Image field, click See all images

  3. 🧭 On the left menu, select My Images
    ➤ Choose the most recent artifact (based on month and year)

  4. 🪓 Upgrade the machine power:
    ➤ Change VM size to D16s_v5

  5. ⚒ Choose the number of VMs to summon

  6. 💎 Set OS Disk Type to Premium SSD

  7. 🌐 For Virtual Network, choose:
    tru-avd-westus-vnet

  8. 🛡 For Domain Join, align with:
    Microsoft Entra ID

  9. 📲 Set Enroll VM with Intune to Yes

  10. 🧙 Enter the sacred credentials of the admin sage:
    pcfuser

  11. Press Next to advance

🔹 Tagging the Summons

  1. 🏷 In the Tags screen:
    ➤ Set Environment to Production

  2. ➤ Press Next

🔹 Assign the Desktop to the Guardian Order

  1. 🛡 Venture to Azure Active Directory
    ➤ Seek out the noble group: sg-avd-desktops
    ➤ Add your freshly summoned desktop to this guardian alliance!

🏁 Final Step: Seal the Spell

  1. 🚨 Review your settings and press Create

🎉 Victory! A new champion joins your desktop realm. May uptime and low latency forever be on your side!
