Windows - How to change Windows 10 compatibility mode
This article provides steps to change the compatibility mode settings in Windows 10 to resolve issues with applications after a Windows upgrade.
Instructions
Right-click the program icon and select Properties from the drop-down menu.
In the Properties window, select the Compatibility tab. Under Compatibility mode, check the box next to Run this program in compatibility mode for and select the appropriate version of Windows from the drop-down list.
If you are experiencing issues with the visuals or graphics of the program, you can adjust the color and resolution settings under Settings:
If colors are displayed incorrectly, check the Reduced color mode box and select an option from the drop-down menu.
If colors are correct but the visuals are off, check the box next to Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution.
Optionally, if the issue persists, you can check the box next to Run this program as an administrator. This should be done as a last resort. Select Apply and OK. Note that you may need to provide the Administrator Username and Password, so remote into the user's computer if necessary.
